Humanitarian Photography- After the Asian tsunami, I had the harrowing yet thrilling experience of being with one of the first international relief teams on the ground in Indonesia. Needless to say, this resulted in some striking images and the NPPA’s News Photographer magazine requested to feature some of my work and story. This was probably my first attempt at articulating the concept of humanitarian photography.
Humanitarian Photographic Narratives: Towards a Representation of Hope in the Midst of Suffering- After a few years I had the opportunity to present my personal methodology of christian humanitarian photography to a scholarly audience. Written & presented in 2006, at a conference of the Human Rights Institute.
